Water is essential in our daily living. We need water to keep us hydrated since sixty to seventy percent of our body is water. However, there are different issues about water that we do not really know if it is true or not. Issue number one: Do we need to drink at least eight glasses of water every day? Well this is a myth. Dieticians today do not recommend eight glasses of water; instead they have this water calculator. This water calculator determines how much water should you intake every day. It considers your body mass, the climate, your activities, and other things that need water. More likely, it is close to eight glasses per day, but different people have different body needs, so it should be taken into consideration. Issue number two: Does water flushes out everything including vitamins and minerals? This issue has not been proven yet, but water does flush toxins and unwanted chemicals in our body. Water also helps in digesting our food properly, so that the “not needed” parts of our food will be extracted. Issue number three: Is water really good for the skin? This is a fact. As mentioned earlier, water hydrates our body, and it certainly includes our skin. It gives our skin moisture that it needed. Besides that, drinking enough water provides our skin a healthy glow. Other than that, since water flushes toxins, it gives us a clear complexion. Issue number four: Does water helps in weight loss? Yes, this is a fact. Besides the fact that water flushes out toxins including unwanted fats, water helps on losing appetite healthily by making your stomach full. Drinking water before you eat your meal makes you feel that you are not that hungry, so, you tend to eat less. Also, in weight loss exercise is needed and water helps prevent dehydration while you exercise. Moreover, water replaces other drinks that contain calories that make you weigh more. Issue number five: Do other beverages like soda, coffee, juice, etc. is considered as water? Well, fact and myth. Sure, other beverages contain water, but there are instances when we should not consider those other beverages as water. If you are concerned about how many glasses of water should you drink, beverages are not really considered as water. In fact, it would be healthy if you drink the same amount of water as your other beverage intake. If you are concerned about the skin and weight loss, water is more helpful than other beverages. But, other beverages can flush out toxins, too, like tea. Those five issues concerning water drinking are the most common questions about it.
